Project 2 Week 8

My goal for this week is to finish this animation. I increased the animation of the wings, and adjusted the original animation to be more detailed, such as the bird’s claws, the rotation of the hips, the up and down movement of the core, etc., have been adjusted.

Project 2 Week 7

This week mainly completed the animation of the bird’s body part.

In the process of doing animation, I found that this small bird, this small animal, is even faster than a cat.

According to my observations, the bird is walking, the neck stretches and shrinks but the head does not follow the neck to move or rotate. Because I turned off the Global on the neck controller of the bird’s model shop. This way when I animate the bird, the head doesn’t move with the neck. In this way, when the bird’s neck stretches and shrinks to walk, I only need to adjust the controller on the neck instead of the head controller, which saves a lot of time.

Project 2 Week 6

I finished my storyboard this week.I finished my storyboard this week.

There is one caveat when making a storyboard based on a reference video. There are two birds in the reference video, let’s call them a and B. Since I only have a model of one bird, I’m going to animate just one bird.

Not long after the video started, A and B grabbed the food together, and then A left and only B was left.

There are two birds in the beginning.

Not long after the video started, A and B grabbed the food together, and then A left and only B was left.

After flying away, there is only one other bird left, which is B.

After the video reaches 30 seconds, B starts to walk away from the field, and then A comes over from a distance.(I’m not sure if this bird is A, because if it’s another bird walking by from a distance, let’s pretend it’s A for the sake of convenience.)

When A and B meet on camera.

After the video gets here, B leaves from a distance, and it is A who comes back. The two birds exchanged.

So when my storyboard reached this point, I planned to exchange the two birds directly. What I did before was the animation of B, and then I plan to do the animation of A, so this part of the exchange is very important.

Project 2 Week 5 Scence

Because my research is mainly in animation, the scene I build is very simple.

First, you need to import the reference sequence frame and the model to be used, and the scene size needs to conform to the model size.

The requirements for this scene are not high, as long as the platform for the bird to walk is built.

In order to facilitate the production of animation later, I kept the ground seam on the table. It allows me to clearly locate the position at different times.

This is very important in the process of making animations later on.

Project 2 Week 4

In my project, the bird basically walks with its wings folded, so I need to understand how the bird folds its wings.

So I first went to the supermarket to buy a chicken in the easiest way, so that I could clearly see how the bird’s wings folded. And because the chickens in the supermarket are all hairless, they look very clear.

Next I went to the Natural History Museum again. There is an exhibition hall about birds, which has very detailed examples with examples, detailed information on bird wings, claws, tails, hair, etc., and even anatomical diagrams. These are very useful to me. I’m very interested in how the bird’s hair grows on the wings, even though the model I used in this project is already hair-ready. But I still learned about the growth of a bird’s hair in detail through the materials in the museum and anatomical maps.Next I went to the Natural History Museum again.

Project 2 Week 3

In this project, I want to show more bird animation principles and my ability to do 3D animation, so I want to show more bird animation principles in this project for my model, as well as my 3D animation. capacity, so my model chooses to download from the web.

Very thanks to Truong CG for the model here, allowing me to get a very nice rig model for my homework at a very friendly price.

This image shows all the controllers on the model. In order to reduce the load on the computer, I did not put the texture in.

Because there are so many controllers for this model, I divided the required controllers into many layers. The body, wings, claws and other parts are layered. When I animate later, I will do the body animation first, then the wings animation, and finally some details. When doing animations, only open the devices you need.

After layering adjustments, the entire model looks clean and fresh, and there are no unnecessary controls. It laid a very good foundation for later animation.

Project 2 Week 2

Some references to bird movement patterns.

I found a lot of pictures or references about the animation principle of birds. Most of them are related to the wings of birds in flight. There are few references when the bird walks. But the video I need to use to make an animated short has more money in the walking part.

However, some of the information is very useful. Although it may not be what I need most, it has a very detailed explanation of the animation principle of bird flight. I still put it in my blog. However, some of the information is very useful. Although it may not be what I need most, it has a very detailed explanation of the animation principle of bird flight. Later, I looked for bird walk cycle animation on YouTube and found a useful reference. And there are detailed explanations about the animation of the bird, which is very useful to me.

Project2 Week 1

I did this project to make a 3D animated short based on a cat video.

At the company I used to work for, almost all character animation was done with motion capture technology. Even in the “Long She Yan Yi” project, the protagonist’s facial expressions are also used motion capture technology. This made me less interested in character animations, which can already be done in a very fast and cheap way. My previous project, “Jiu Ye Shen Zhuan”, can complete one episode in more than a week on average, including the rendering time. So I turned my goals and the focus of my research to animals. After all, motion capture of animals is not very common these days, and it is not easy to make animals do the actions that the video needs to do. Therefore, the research mainly focuses on the study of animal behavior and the production of 3D animation in this area. And I have a cat named Mo Qi, I love animals.

This video is a video I shot a while back about birds. At that time, I finished visiting the museum with my classmates, just in time for the Christmas market at the entrance of the museum. We bought hot dogs at the market, and the leftovers were placed on the guardrail and the pigeons in the square came to grab the food. In the end, the pigeons threw the hot dog bun directly over the guardrail. I filmed this funny scene and intend to use this video as a reference to make a 3D animation.

I don’t know why this video can’t be played on this page, but here is a link to see my reference video.
